Digital Park II is the only office building in Slovakia with the highest rating for environmentally sustainable operations
The Digital Park II office building has maintained the highest level of LEED Platinum v4.1 certification in the Operations & Maintenance: Existing Buildings category, awarded by the international organization GBCI (Green Business Certification Inc.). Digital Park II is also the only office building in Slovakia to repeatedly achieve this prestigious standard for environmentally responsible building operation and management.
LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is a globally recognized building rating system that evaluates energy efficiency, water management, indoor environmental quality, and overall environmental impact. In the LEED Operations & Maintenance: Existing Buildings certification process, points are awarded for energy efficiency based on actual energy consumption and measured emissions during building operation.
Digital Park II first received the LEED Platinum Operations & Maintenance: Existing Buildings certificate in 2016, becoming the first building in Slovakia and one of the first in Europe to achieve this standard. In the current assessment, it scored 84 out of 100 points, placing it among the top sustainable buildings in Central Europe. The office complex received official confirmation of the successful certification process in June.
What LEED Platinum means in practice:
- Higher energy efficiency and lower emissions,
- Significant water savings,
- A healthier work environment, appreciated by up to 93% of employees in certified buildings according to surveys,
- Increased attractiveness for tenants and investors.
With this certification, Digital Park II reinforces its position as a leader in modern office projects. In line with this approach, the building recently underwent a façade revitalization to enhance energy efficiency and tenant comfort.
“We view Digital Park as a long-term investment and a model for sustainable building management. Renewing the highest-level LEED Platinum certification confirms our philosophy of combining architectural quality, high operational standards, and environmental responsibility. We believe such projects create value not only for the companies and employees working in Digital Park but also for the entire city of Bratislava,” says Ján Bryndza, Commercial Director at Alto Real Estate, which manages Digital Park.
According to the Sustainably Certified Buildings 2025 survey by SKGBC (Slovak Green Building Council), as of December 31, 2024, there were a total of 29 buildings in Slovakia with LEED certification and 152 buildings with BREEAM certification.
